acute care executives in the issues presented while delivering essential information in a format to which they are accustomed as readers of other administrative journals and periodicals. MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION The editorial staff encourages submission of manuscripts for consideration,
reserving the right to accept or reject any or all articles. Accepted manuscripts
are subject to editing to enhance clarity and conform to the editorial style

Written submissions should include an original and two copies of the manuscript.
A third copy should be retained by the author. A diskette should be enclosed
along with the required number of copies. Word processing software compatible
with Microsoft Word 6.0 or higher is preferred. Short articles may be faxed
to the editorial offices (410-742-3235). Authors must note if they
wish diskettes to be returned. MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION Title Page - This should contain the name(s), professional and/or academic degrees,
positions, and institutional or agency affiliations of all authors and the complete
mailing address and telephone/fax numbers and e-mail address of the principal author. Text - The manuscript should be typed and double-spaced on 8 1/2" x 11"
white paper with margins of at least 1 1/2" on all edges. Number the pages
in the center along the bottom starting with the first page and all subsequent
pages, continuing thorough the references list. Subdivide text by inserting
succinct, meaningful subheads, similar to the text in sense and tone. Abbreviations - Abbreviate only after the full term has been used with abbreviation
in parenthesis. Tables - These should be located on a separate page, numbered, titled, and
cited in the text. They should supplement not duplicate the text. References - These should be listed on a separate page placed at the end of
the manuscript. References should refer only to material cited in the text and
should be noted in accordance with the APA Manual. Permissions - It is the author's responsibility to request any permission required
for the use of material owned by others including copyrighted materials. All
appropriate releases should be submitted with the manuscript. EXCLUSIVITY AND COPYRIGHT
Articles must be original work that has not been published elsewhere. They may, however, be based on material developed originally for other purposes, such as speeches, internal reports, or presentations of papers at professional conferences. Articles are considered for publication with the understanding that they are not simultaneously under consideration for publication elsewhere. Permission to reprint articles in another publication must be obtained in writing from Healthcare Staffing & Management Solutions. PHOTOGRAPHS/ILLUSTRATIONS
High-quality, high-impact photographs, charts, graphs, and other figures increase reader involvement and greatly enhance an article's message. Art should be in color, and can come as a print, slide, or on disks or e-mail if they are JPEG files. Most artwork can be returned, but avoid sending originals when possible. Identify all illustrative material with figure number and legend, including the author’s name and photographer's name, on a separate piece of paper attached to each figure or photograph. EDITORIAL PROCEDURES Query letters are not required but they do allow the editor to give advice on
proposed topics and format. The full review process for these pieces takes four to six weeks. Publication
decisions and author notifications will be made after the review process has
been completed. Authors may be requested to rewrite submitted manuscripts according
to the editors' remarks. If manuscripts are accepted for publication, authors must review and approve
the final edited draft prior to printing. At this time, a form indicating approval
for inclusion in the journal, Healthcare Staffing & Management Solutions, and permission
for text and/or photos to appear on the website, www.hsmsweb.com,
must be completed and forwarded to the publishers via fax or mail. It is not
